Our Belief

Every child deserves the right to grieve and express their pain in a safe and supportive space. THE HEALING CENTER is such a place.

Our Philosophy
Grief is a natural reaction to loss of a loved one for children as well as adults.
The duration and intensity of grief are unique for each individual.
Within each individual is the natural capacity to heal oneself.
Caring and acceptance assist in the healing process.
Mission Statement
To provide structured support groups for grieving children. To allow children to express their pain in a safe, consistent, supportive environment.
To help the children name the hard feelings they are coping with in a safe outlet.
To help eliminate the emotional and behavioral problems resulting from unaddressed childhood grief.
To support and enhance the lives of children at a critical time in their development. The death of a family member/significant person is a time of crisis for children; handled with acceptance, caring and support it can become a process of growth.
